very powerful and moving poem about an epic storm and the power and thrill of watching the storm and nature at its most awesome moment. The author notes were very helpful. Where in the world are you?

Comment from Gloria ....
Having been a weather follower for my entire life, I quite enjoyed your poem, Debi. It seems to be different now, and of course we humans, particularly farmers, pay special attention to what the skies/heavens might bring.
The storms are unusual and more severe in all seasons now and that can be attributed to whichever philosophy one believes in.
Well done, and many thanks for sharing a rare photograph and fine poem. :)

Hi Gloria. It is always so nice to hear from you. Thank you for your kind comments for this poem and photo. Although we have experienced storms w more damage in the past, we have never seen the sky look like that before. We have fields all around us so we do have an opportunity for nice pictures. Especially w the power lines in the background. Thanks again, my friend!

This poem told a story of an exciting event in poetic format. I liked your rhymes, and I think it captured the photo perfectly. You used good descriptions (like the clouds being black and blue as though in a fight). I am glad you are safe! Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

What a great picture and awesome poem. I can just feel the hot air and the power of the approaching storm. Your author's notes supply interesting information (thanks to your hubby). Best of luck in the contest! Evi

Evi, I thank you so much for the kind words for my poem and the photo I took for the contest. I so appreciate your gracious gift of six stars too.
I have other pictures in my portfolio that show the same fields and power lines by our home, but all different scenarios of weather.
I find weather fascinating. Thanks again for the great review, my friend

Debi, This is a very interesting poem, picture and comments you have shared with us. I have come to realize that as much as I love snow we probably won't get any until around Christmas, hopefully. I just trust the Lord knows what he is doing and I just have to learn to listen to Him, not always the weather man! Thanks for sharing. love and blessings, Teri

This is a cool picture, and a cool poem to go with it. I particularly liked the lines, "The clouds were black and blue like they'd been in a bitter fight/ The field looked like a gold mine that was sprinkled with sunlight" That captured the look clearly and vividly. Thanks for the extra info in the notes. I've always found the science behind storms very interesting.
