Hello author, I think that everyone is happy when it's time to say good-bye to winter. I especially liked your title, "Good Riddance." Well-chosen photo, albeit covered with snow. Thanks for sharing the YouTube.
See You In September is a happy, favorite song of mine. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

And yet in notes, I had to screw it up by trying to explain everything it wasn't. Lol... I was just in such shock that people would think that I meant it as a slavery poem. I look back now and think to myself, "What was I thinking of?" Hehehe! Thanks for the awesome review my friend

Haha, good one! I enjoyed your short verse and your 'Ode to Winter'. Your use of humor and clever wit really enhance this one and make it a perfect entry for this prompt. Good luck!!

The printing of your poem is elegant. The video is so rock and roll; does September reminds us that school and college; also grad school begins for several people. Your picture displays when it is cotton picking time; fall.

Oh no Rosemary, I know you are going by the info you were given and I fear I have misled you, I meant this to look like I was so tired of winter that even the looks of cotton made me sick. And then the song was to refer to the bye bye so long farewell that the song starts with. Thus saying goodbye to Winter, but where I am from,, and I know you aren't that far from me, I have even seen where snow comes back in September. It doesn't stick but it does happen. So that is what my poem was about. I am going to put some notes in there. I shouldn't have tried to use humor, cause I really botched this.

Thank you my dear friend for pointing that out to me. Bless you!!

Love the rhymes here, a fine write, without the picture, I am not sure we could relate this to winter? I wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x x x x

Hi Dolly, I truly now see why it is important for your words to be clear without pictures or notes. You reviewed this early, but I later found necessary to add notes. Lol, in a million years I couldn't have come up with that kind of a poem, (slavery puns) and for another million, I wouldn't have used it. It just didn't even occur to me that anyone would ever think something like that of me. And then, haha, I remembered it was a blind contest. So I am so glad that I added notes. Thanks for reading and reviewing this. Yes, almost 100 combine total inches of snow and at times windchills that are over 50 below Fahrenheit. Yes, I hate winter. Why do I stay? It's because I love my husband who loves ice fishing. We are from Minnesota.
Thanks for your kind approach to it as I just had no idea that anyone thought it was racial until Nomi jokingly brought it to my attention.

I remember this song. Always thought they, the Happenings, were a backdoor name for the Four Seasons. Still, what have they to do with winter? No mind I enjoyed your short.

Hahaha! Tom, did you read my description of bye bye so long farewell. That is what I am saying to Winter, and unfortunately the words are perfect, because it returns again around Sept or Oct. UGH! Thanks my dear friend for the fun review.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I don't think I have ever given six stars to a Haiku, but this one is outstanding with the picture. The song that you included brought back memories from many years ago.

Hi Paul, I thank you so much for one of the biggest honors you have ever given me, by your first six for a haiku. And also for your awesome review of my poem, the six stars and your very kind words. You can't possibly know how much it means to me. Thanks again dear friend.

That sums it up nicely. Here in Minnesota we can't let our guard down for a couple more weeks. Winter has a sense of humor and, like an unwanted guest returning because he forgot his phone, loves to return after the first goodbye. Good luck in the contest.

Oops, I was just saying there are many who live in the area. You would be shocked how many live a little ways from you.

Ahhh. Someday we may need to start a subchapter for those who live in the Bold North

Aw, you must live up north, mystery poet. All my northern friends are crying big time. This is lovely though, so creative and beautifully presented in short verse
5-7-5 poetry.

Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest. Thank you for the video too.
Sally Law :)) xoxo

Oh, I do, I really do live the life of never knowing when we will get dumped on again. We should be safe in about a month. And then it can be like my video says ( did you notice the video?) see you in September?

Thanks Sweetie for the awesome review and comments

Sounds like a Jeopardy question: Something a former slave might say. I must say this little ditty gave me a chuckle. I am not quite sure what the intended message is, but it did make me think of something a former slave might very well say.

OMGosh Nomi, that is horrible. I had to go back and look at my poem and you are right. It does look like that. Sorry but that is the most hilarious review you have ever written to me. And yet it is not funny.... I am still laughing..
You are such a nut. So is that picture snow or cotton? I am from the north so I thought it was snow. I have never seen cotton. Well, lol, hope I don't get disqualified now for this because I just reviewed my race.... hehehehe!
