Don't think you'll win any competitions, but you have interesting 10-word parables. I do not think divorced'm works as a contraction. Playing with words is fun.

Poetry does not have to rhyme, what I see here is a pretty funny free verse. I love the subject matter. I think this "poem" captures a lot of emotions, and life's realities. Sad but pretty common lives. Hope the ravioli was still good.

I loved these little stories. They each required creativity and imagination. The first two were my favorite.
My first post on FanStory was a fiction piece. My second post was my attempt at a poem. A prominent Fanstorian gave me 4 stars and I was scared for life. Hahaha! Thanks for the idea of short, short stories.

I always found poetry tough, unless it?s silly and rhymes.
Thanks for sharing.

Each of your 10-word flash fiction instead of poetry could've been
the start of a longer story, John. I liked 'em all. Those daily prompts
leave a lot to be desired by serious poets. I imagine soon we'll see
write a 262, 353, etc. Your words made an excellent and true statement.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

I admire you for your tenacity to try things that take you out of your comfort zone. This daily prompt is a challenge for most people especially the the 10 line constraint. Having said that, I enjoyed reading your Daily Prompt Rebuttal.

-I like your title and picture, John.
-Your note is appreciated.
-You did a good job with your ten word flash fiction.
-I know what you mean about your grandma; they
are special people.
-I like your idea for "first place."
-A good conclusion, as well.
-Why don't you make this a contest;
I think it's a good idea.

I never created a contest. I'll look into it. Thx.
I appreciate you reading my post... Thanks so much.

You are welcome. It isn't hard to do. I copied the form for the contest and wrote out the directions ahead of time. The key is to get every requirement you want in the first box. I know that the prose writers want more contests, and this would be a good one.

I enjoyed the sentiment and some relationships never work out and it is best to move on. As for the rhyming contest, you need (Rhymezone) there are lots of rhyming words for you to choose from John, love Dolly x

Hi John, I certainly think that you have the makings of a poet in you. These little writing are terrific. You got me at Grandma's raviolis.
I started to think about Pastosa and Livotti's.
I like the photo, but by no means is your writing at a dead-end.
Well done. Just remember, "Free verse is free-flow from the heart ~ LateBloome" Margaret

I was the Catering Manager at Livotti's in Matawan for about three years, 2010-13.
Thank you, Margaret.
Maybe I'll give poetry a whirl one of these days, John
-
Life doesn't rhyme, so why should poetry?
-
Absolutely! Agreed.
Comment from BethShelby
Poetry doesn't have to write and you could have called anyone of these four 10 word flashes you wrote and called it a poem and most people would except it as poetry. Sometimes poetry seems to loosely defined.
