The raccoon is cute and it sure was a bargain to nip at her heels and get a free apple! I love the choice of the picture by Willie of a cute raccoon. And the text was easy to read although sort of bunched together it was fun and entertaining to read. Well done! I hope you win the flash fiction contest!

flowed smoothly with a beginning, middle, and end.
The art choice was perfect. FS counter isn't the most
reliable. I counted 148 words (though I could be off).
I'n also not sure how a hyphenated word is counted
on FS. I would delete the hyphen.

This story is delightful and it gave me a hearty laugh. There is a raccoon that comes to my house and eats the cat food I started putting out for a stray. Now I get a skunk as well. If I forget to put the food out they knock the bowl around until I do. Good luck in the contest.

Another reason I like this is because it was well written punctuated properly, and your font was excellent for those of us who have vision problems so that we can read them long, but it was more important that the proper use of punctuation help me because I have serious vision problems and I have to listen to what the writer is writing in order to be able to continue to stay on this site. This is an excellent flash fiction - a comparison of the Saturday market from the point of view of two thrifty shoppers. What fun. I throughly enjoyed imagining the interaction between the stout (presumably clumsy) lady and the racoon who I imagine to be lithe and athletic in her attack. kay
