Another fun poem to add to your portfolio. I think many middle schoolers would agree with the sentiments expressed here. I also appreciated the rhyming, not easy to accomplish in so short of a poem. It deserved to win.

Awe Thanks Charles! A truly Minnesota nice guy! These snapchat filters are lots of fun and I love the silly 5-7-5 poems, so I'm always searching for my own idea with picture shave saved and playing possum seemed to fit right in. Thanks again for an awesome review and comments.

This is certainly true at mid year point!! Our year in Aus is just about to begin so my kids are all at the first week nerves and excitement point! We do get lot's of possums though and they certainly do "play dead" Everyone get's dead-brained at times kids and adults! I love your rhyme and witty way of portraying such a relatable scenario.

My sweet Karyn, because you are so young you might be one of the few that understand Snapchat on here. It is my job as grandma to keep up with these things. Lol! I even had a possum crawling around on my head. Actually the kids have me do all the silly filters w them! So your kids start school in January? How long do they go then? Ha, Ha! Yes snap chat offers lots of fun! In Australia students finish the year a week before Christmas and then we have a 6 week break before term 1 resumes. I think it makes Christmas time super stressful as everything finishes up for the year right at Christmas time. But we have had a restful January so I?m thankful for that! We then have 4 x10 week terms for our school year with 2 week gaps in between.

What a cute poem. I guess rhyming is OK in this case. It sounds very natural. What an image that your grandson has to help you to create. The last line is a very creative metaphor.

Silly girl, I knew nobody would recognize him from the eyes alone, but that is Keaton. We were goofing around with Snapchat and he even put the possum on me. You should see some of the silly photos we have from that app.
Thanks my sotu, for the awesome review, with no bothersome comments and remind me to show you a picture of a possum on your head sometime. LOL...

I enjoyed this cute poem very much. School teachers recognize the "possum brain" and usually can think of a creative way to wake up the students. School should be fun, I always thought. Your poem is especially fun. Congratulations for the first place win. Very worthy entry. ;p
