Well written and congrats on All Time Best. A dreadful way to end one's life. Not to recognise one's family to gradually go mad. One day a cure will be found. Let us hope.

Must be very scary to realize your own mind is playing tricks on you. In an uncertain world when you can no longer count on yourself, who do you turn to? Second paragraph full of fear and non-acceptance, and finally peace. A dreadful disease, but a good topic for poetry.

Senility is such a heartbreaking phase of life--I'm glad you tried to address it. From the illustration of a bird, I wondered if the poem was about humans or animals. Some of the phraseology was choppy--perhaps like what a confused mind might produce, so I accepted that. The third line holds together much better than the fourth line. That fourth line kept me wondering who was feeling the weight, grief, and duty--the person with senility or the caregiver?
This was a very good effort to address the topic; however, the illustration didn't seem to fit.
My thoughts go out to all who experience senility in themselves or with others. Thank you for your writing.

I took a class on the psychology of aging in college. The professor said that Alzheimer's is harder on the family than those going through it. I have had some health issues which caused me loss of short term memory. It ain't fun. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed isn't the right word, but I gained a lot from reading this poem. Above all, the reassurance that I am not alone suffering through the pain of the waiting alongside my dad. God Bless You. kay

Love the variety of words. It makes your poem extremely vivid and descriptive at the same time. Senility is an awful experience to witness someone going through.

This did a very good job of describing the horror of what millions of people are dead lung with, or will eventually have to deal with.

Thank you for sharing this.

I read and reread your poem a few times but could not grasp what it was you were trying to convey.

That's on me, not on you the author as you knew exactly what you wanted to say and how.

I tried.... John

Belinda,
I like your unique way of describing senility.
It's a sad time for many; a person works all his/her life to make a difference, only to lose their hold on their mind.
Nice work, Belinda.
Good luck in the contest.
Blessings,
Cindy
