Very interesting poem and I enjoy reading your poems.
Your work is construed out of deep thoughts, structured and built around emotions that help readers to make life connections.
In this one, sparkling in your lines:
-You set the scene for excavation below the surface. Like what volcanologists would do, for example, to dig below the ruins, broken pieces of rock, sediment, geo formations to uncover something, of value, a gem beneath the rubble, or to make sense of certain disruptions in life.
-The peace lily is a beautiful image.
This poem situates readers in an emotion and invites them to delve below the surface.
You give us glimpses of that. With your poems, readers may want to read it on many levels, if they so choose.
You have an interesting geocache of ideas and say a lot in very little space.
Very lovely poem, Gypsy. Just lovely.

Thank you for putting into words what most people feel in their hearts. Yes, I pray daily, or often actually, that there will be an end to this war. I know there will still be mourning over the losses, but maybe peace will be restored.

A fantastic picture of the single peace lily in the midst of the rubble, Gypsy. Your words definitely pin pointed the devastation. The words of your narrative notes rang true. Blessed Be n Hugs!

Very nice, even without the notes, I think many will see the relation between these words and the hope of bring new life out of the ruins of our dreams and our own making.
Very nice.

Thanks for rallying our spirits to support Ukraine and have an outcry against Putin! Even with victory, there is still so much "mourning" and I'm glad that God put Zelenskyy in charge at this time of history!

I'm glad zelenskyy is in charge of Ukraine too. He's an excellent leader. It's interesting that he was a comedian and actor before president.
Thank you very much, Helen. I appreciate that you took the time to read and review my poem.

I like your 5/7/5 poem- excellent picture presentation - heartfelt story continuing in Ukraine - poem has good word count and flow between lines = notes are excellent =going along with the picture perfectly - interesting words from Zelensky for Putin about not giving up the fight at any cost - indicative of the sentiments of the Ukraine people. I have close people who are from Russia and Ukraine who have lived in both countries - sometimes not as simple as being from one or the other because they have intermingled for so many years- even now as the hatred runs so deep - there will be no white flag on either side -meaning surrender - not peace. Good Job.

Your 575 read well, Gypsy. Great job with the syllable
count per line. The image is amazing, but your words
created their own in the minds of readers. I don't
believe Putin knows anything by war, death, and
destruction. It's a scary time for all.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

UKRAINE! The tragedy there is incomprehensible to someone like me who lives in peace thousands of miles away. Your poem--in a nutshell-- describes the ruins on a hazy day. Hopefully the Ukrainians can find hope in the lily that sprouts.

Thank you. I'm happy you like it. (*÷*) poor Ukrainians, all for a power hungry monster. I hope the war ends soon.
