Absolutely flawless throughout. Still loving Fanny's manner of speech. Although the dialect is obviously very different, the way she talks isn't unlike my departed Nan, who was from the East End of London. With the verdict, the way the stare was reported, it already had loaded meaning even before Fanny gave it a name. I can imagine sitting in the audience, watching this play out.

Ah, Mike, words from someone of your caliber does my heart good! I was surprised, incidentally, while reading Alan Moore's, "Jerusalem" how alike Fanny's dialect was to the characters in that tome. They were from that section of London, from the 15th century to the 1950s. Thank you so much for weighing in.

As usual, you have some great turns of phrase, Jay, e.g.He already be a dead man inside. Th' outside jes ain't cetched up yet.
As this play draws to its inevitable conclusion, I can only say that Harper Lee would be proud of you.

Ha! Harper Lee, I wish! Thank you again, and enduringly, for your kind words, and of course, for the 6 stars! Jay

This is an interesting outcome to the trial. I didn't think they would offer blood money after what they did. Now I'm wondering how the money was used.

You won't have too long to wait to find out the good use to which the money would be used. As ever, thank you for coming back for a new dose every week. Jay.

Jay, this is an amazing post. You make Fanny come alive with her dialect and dialogue and you do it within a conversation on a porch! You bring the events alive. This is masterful.

Tim, you are so kind and generous with your words and your rating. Just receiving a review from someone with your gifts is rating enough. I feel an embarrassment of riches when you award me a six! A virtual six is always enough, my friend. But the chartreuse glow is indeed warming! Thank you my dear friend.

and the play goes on. You did a good job and I am still enjoying the read. Now I want to know how Mrs. Albright's money was used. Looking forward to reading more. Shirley

This reporter is getting a completely different and more compelling story than the simple human interest story he expected to write. Each time he talks to Fanny, the plot thickens, and new information is introduced. Thank you Jay, for a suspenseful Sunday afternoon and another cliff hanger. I can't wait to see what your creative mind has in store for us next.

You are too kind, Lorraine! Thank you for weighing in again and being so generous with your appraisal. Your reviews keep the gas in my tank (and us geezers can't have too much gas!)

A faultless read; very interesting and entertaining too! I can picture this so well:
(and here, protruding from the armholes of his midnight-blue robe, his Honor's arms extended like two slender white stalks, at the end of which two soft, white palms, opened like lillies in Mister Flourney's direction.)
A great description.

Oh, Nicole, thank you so much. I probably shouldn't take credit for that description, it being from the reporter in Chicago. Yeah, he had a way with words though! LOL, thanks again, and for the six stars.

I can't wait to read what better use of the money Elizabeth Albright had. I am on the edge of my seat waiting. I know it will be good. Thank you for sharing.

This is another powerful scene, Jay. I like the way you are presenting the facts of the story through Fanny and now two reporters, one present, reviewing the writer of the former. I can see there is still more to come, and I look forward to reading it. Great job.

Thank you, Judy. Yes, The addition of the second reporter has given the play a bit more dimension, I believe. Thank you for pointing it out. And, my goodness! the six lovely stars! You rock!

You're most welcome, Jay. :)

Aw, Jay, So there is more as I hoped there would be. This is far from over. The whole court case is a scam from the word go. I just wonder what the 4000$ will be used for.
Your characters are coming to life before our very eyes. It's masterfully written. I so enjoy it. Ulla. xx

Thank you so much, Ulla. You make writing this so worthwhile by saying such kind things, then offering up a six on top!
