Hi there,
there' a saying of 'it comes to us all'. I'm at an age now where i wonder about the things that come out of my mouth and then realise that I am speaking with my own father's voice. it's disturbing and yet somehow reassuring.

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. Your mother looks great for ninety years old. My mom turned ninety in February. I enjoyed reading this entry because of the way you described heredity. Yes, we inherit many features from our parents. I'm pretty sure we also inherit the way heads are tilted and other things.

Thank you for reading. It is interesting he the inheritence in some people is mixed and in others seems to "breed true" to one parent or the other.

Beautifully realised - this is clever in structure and careful in word choice. You manage to evoke both aging and lineage, as well as that sense of understanding that frustratingly comes almost too late to be useful!

Beautiful account of your mother in such few words. I have a tiny book that says on the front," Mom, I caught my reflection in a window today as I walked by it. And I was so surprised to see you looking from my eyes back at me. How fortunate for me, that there was a you that I would become someday." I too look much like my mother, and now that I'm in my 60s, I realize that I also have so many of the same qualities! Your mother was lovely and I believe you are too Nancy. This was a lovely use of this hperfect poem. Great job!

I never thought I looked like my mom. At her funeral, our hands fit like a glove. With every passing year, when I look into the mirror, I see my mom. I enjoyed reading your poem. And the message is clear. The picture is perfect for this story. Thank you for sharing reality.
