I hate war...it has to stop...
so many children...so many people dying
all out of greed...and who can take control..
enough...
your poem has so few words...but they say so
much...very well expressed...and very well written...
your picture says it all...love Linda xxoo

Linda, ask any veteran of any war in any land and they would agree passionately.
-
my heart goes out to all veterans
they should be honored...not disrespected...

A heartfelt piece and unfortunately tragic. We can only pray it all ends soon. I'm not a big poetry writing guy therefore it didn't surprise me I've never heard of a Trinet. You write well.

Hello author, a timely poem. The war in Ukraine has everyone heartbroken. If only there was a quick solution. Your poem reads
and flows well, and its message is clear. Of special note:
Please, can we war no more?
(If only)
Well-chosen photo. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck.

Well done for the trinet. I hope you do well in the contest.
I like how your poem is an appeal for peace. I expect what's happening in Ukraine will prompt a lot of this type of writing.

I get confused with all the views how every poetic form must have a name. Trinet? Why? To me this would have been free verse, short and meaningful relating a message concerning war. That said, you met the criteria of a Trinet... and did it well.

Tom, I agree -- My most natural and personal favorite is free verse poetry. While free verse has its rules - the flow, if done correctly can deliver tremendous power.

Good use of this brief Trinet poetic form to spell out a plea that we all agree with. It's heart-wrenching every night to hear of families being killed in this senseless war. Best wishes in the contest!

Hello my Aussie friend, I am most humbled by your supportive comments. Thank you from he with those pesky aches, pains and strains that come from aging body parts!
-
My dear never met friend. You're very welcome. Why is it that our body parts start to disintegrate when we get older?
Dear Anon, pesky aches and body parts are just TOO rough.
Take care and stay safe,
the Duchess

Love your words and the outstanding picture you chose to accompany them. It is dreadful and horrid what is happening now in this world and I, even before the war, felt that there are so many things happening to the poor children when even as adults we struggle to make sense of it all.

Oh I do heartily agree! I, like you, am sickened by the tragedies inflicted on innocents. The loss of life in tragic scenes should not be a part of civilized society.
Your strongly worded poem shows emotion and empathy.
