It must be every parents nightmare to have a child go missing. It's not that often that they are found alive, so the relief and joy at finding one alive it amazing. That young lad was lucky, and truly was one of God's miracles. Well done, nicely written and a pleasure to read. :) Sandra

You have a good story but you need to work on punctuation. Time and time again, "Jason! Jason!" "Suddenly, "He is here! He is alive!" And your spacing is a bit odd but that could be the problem of this site fitting in your picture. Best of luck with this and have a blessed new year.

Well done on your story. I found it captivating. Not knowing which way to go to search for the boy would be frustrating and terrifying at the same time. It could have turned out so much different. So glad there was a happy ending to this story.
Have a safe and happy New Year.
Blessings

Yes, miracles do happen, everyday, in different ways. This is a beautiful story you've written about a miracle, Barry. There isn't much more frightening than a lost child. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

A very nice entry for this contest, good luck. You only had eighty words to work with, but you were able to deliver a sensitive story to a favorable conclusion. The fact it is based on reality is a plus. Very good work.

A great short story about the search and rescue of this little boy. I am so happy he was found. You did a wonderful job of telling about him and how he was found. And explaining the dangers of the area he was lost in. Good job!

Little Jason is alive! All rolled up in an 80-word flash fictionalized story, pardon me if I don't get teary-eyed about this so-called true story. If it was true, then why do you call it flash fiction? It either happened or it didn't and I am hard-pressed to believe that after four days of searching he is still alive!
In your author's note, you say that miracles do happen. This event is proof! Tell me this, are you trying to win a contest under false pretense? I don't think that is allowed. I don't know you from adam, Barry, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Please, check your contest rules to see if I am right.
Have a happy 2022!

Jesse,
Thanks for taking time to review my story. You were not the only one who was doubtful about him surviving that long. The police apparently launched a further investigation which was looking at the possibility of another adult person being involved and abducting the child. They then placed the child in the bush when they got "cold feet". I do not know what was the outcome of that investigation.
Happy New Year to you.
