Very cute story! Poor Max gets blamed again. Matthew could probably use the "It's my birthday, and my family threw me a surprise party, and we had a house full of company, and I was trying to do my homework, but it accidentally got thrown in the garbage disposal, so I couldn't turn it in" excuse! Lol.

My grandchildren try to blame my little shih tzu (who is a devil I admit) for everything that gets destroyed... He loves to steal what they drop and get them to chase him.

Superb! A 'fortunately/unfortunately' story with action and results all written in the required 200 words!! The poor dog takes the blame with Matthew's teacher! That was harsh!!! LOL. This is a wonderful piece of children's fiction, and a great entry for the contest. It's basically a fun story, and Max is far enough removed from Matthew's teacher, not to have to deal with any consequences of eating said homework.

I had already mentioned he was with his friends so I figured since the story is limited to 200 words, people would understand that Tim was one of the friends. Sorry you were confused.

i also thought people would understand that Max was the dog since it followed the statement of the dog ate my homework.

I'm sorry, Carol! When I read the requirements for this Contest (I had been checking out the various contests, earlier), I never noticed the word limit. That would definitely make it harder to squeeze explanations into the mix! I'm going to go back and revise my review.
