This is such a cute poem. It is a perfect poem for children. I like your are work too. I'll bet it would have hard to find the picture you needed without drawing it yourself. I remember another children's poem calle the Walrus and the Carpenter. I think they had a conversation too.

Someone else mentioned the Walrus and the Carpenter. I truly didn't have that in mind. I don't know where this idea came from. It sort of wrote itself. Thanks for a great review.

Well friends come in all shapes and sizes and I'm sure the children you read this to will enjoy your picture as much as the poem. I'm sure the children will be answering all the questions too : ) Nice!

This was absolutely amazing, damommy. I just loved the art work, then I read on and on and discovered you did it. Fantastic. I loved your words, I could just imagine a conversation between the walrus and the starfish. This was greatly enjoyed and very well done.

-I am not laughing at all.
-I thought it was drawn
but I didn't look farther
to see it was yours until later.
-I love it and think you should more!!!
-I like the new profile pic, too!!
-After all of that, I like the poem.
-You could call this a win-win-win
situation:)
-I like Walrus and Starfish strolling
on the sand! It made me smile.
-Walrus certainly have a lot of questions,
and I like how he asks "his pointy pal."
-The Starfish doesn't know, but he
is going to find out. That means a
follow up poem to see what he learns!!!
-I really liked this, and it deserved
my final six of the week, my friend.

AWESOME!!!!! LOVE THIS!!! You wrote a superb poem about these two friends, Yvonne. Your art is perfect--really emphasizes the walrus and the starfish without a bunch of fluff. Your lines flow smoothly with super rhymes, great alliteration, a fantastic imagery. I could see everything you wrote as I read. Your poem is great for kids with a great teaching point about true friendship. Even older 'kids' will enjoy this.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Yvonne,
hahahahaha! I really liked the image - quite a LOT. You should be drawing more of your accompanying art, in my opinion. I think they are adorable!
The poem is cute, too. Just right for a kid to stretch their imagination with. Or an adult! Like this one -- hahaha Thanks!

I loved this update on the Walrus and the Carpenter. That walrus is every bit as much the homespun philosopher as his ancestor was.
'that all the birdies sing.' => What about, 'that every birdie sings' for a full rhyme with 'wings'? I always think claiming a near rhyme with a plural and a singular is a bit of a cop out.
