They've forgiven each other--not so sure that's a good thing--the issues continue to fester.

That?s true

One thing about today's technology, we can record proof of all the verbal attacks we receive,as ammunition for what? It only makes us more miserable I think. So sorry for Lauren.

Hi Liz,
Once you hit "Send", it's engraved in concrete. You can't take it back. It's there, to be read and re-read over and over again. I love that last word you used... "moot". I wonder how it made it into the dictionary. It seems ... out there, somehow. But I guess it's like their relationship... out there. Can it endure? I'm thinking not. Why do girls get into a relationship with these guys? The world is full of eligible bachelors. They're like grapes. I think of Indiana Jones when the old knight said: "You have chosen ...wisely." in selecting the Holy Grail.

Tell Lauren to be more selective. She doesn't need all this crap.
Hugs,
Kimbob

I guess that is a point in favor of texting. If been saying it is a stupid way to communicate when you can talk on the phone. However I'm starting to rethink that. Memory isn't as reliable as something written.

Children these days! The trouble with texting is that you can't slip away later. The proof is there !
I am sure they will soon kiss and make up. Unless the exchange was the result of some basic difference ..lets keep the fingers crossed!

I read your earlier post too about their relationship gone 'Kaput'. Well, I don't understand why they are exchanging toxic texts. My advice would be to block the ex's cell number so that he doesn't screw up your daughter's happiness. Forget such a guy existed in her life and move on. Life will have better things to offer. All the best to her.

It is WAY to easy to click send! There ought to be a warning series....
1). You have hit send
2.). Would you like to review before sendng?
3.). For your protection "send" will be disabled for five minutes.
4). Are you POSITIVE???
--
I know. I KNOW! But in frenzied texting there is no emotional filter!
Lover's quarrels were so much less combustible when you had to sit and write a letter, find an envelope, lick a stamp...
On the other hand? They tied! Maybe it'll all blow over...
Via text. A sad emoji.
"Miss you."
"And they lived happily ever...well, until the next techno-spat!"
Egads!

Brilliant idea about texting warning!

I wish there had been "e-mail warnings" back in the day!

Oh dear! Texts are just another way for the knife to be twisted when relationships fall apart! That's sad ...but I think they were on-going issues if I remember, so maybe it's for the best.

That's sad. But you did mention that the relationship was strained. It's interesting to have arguments via texts which keep the hurtful things in writing. Hope it works out for the best.
