Hello Melissa!
I read your exceptionally well-crafted tanka yesterday, but I wanted to wait until I had six stars to affix upon it before I reviewed it!
I so love the tanka format, and yours is stunning! All systems go!
All parts flow into one another perfectly!
I just purchased a beautiful sunflower picture for our family room this afternoon! (Bringing the garden inside is my safest bet these days!) :)

Well, there isn't much to harvest here except overheated people, plants, and animals. Your tanka reads well, Melissa. YOur pivot line works well with both parts of the poem. YOur words are filled with great imagery. The image is a perfect pairing, too.
