Elvis was a bit before my time and I grew up thinking he was old fashioned, but his music was magical and he had a velvet voice and his songs are timeless, much enjoyed Sally, love Dolly x

Have been waiting for Elvis! And hope there are lots more of him. Wonderful post. Enjoyed both videos - but even Andrea Bocelli can't beat Elvis with this song. Looking forward to the next, very much! Thank you.

Dear Sally,
I find your jukebox hits fascinating. I love music loads myself and it forms part of my daily life. Though not a fan of Elvis in particular perhaps coz of the generation gap, I have enjoyed some of his songs. This post is fun, interesting and a most delightful read.
Well done.
Cheers,
DJ

Hi Sally,
I knew Elvis would likely pop up sooner or later. But I never liked him. If I had to pick just one song from the Memphis virtuoso, it would be this one,
"Return To Sender" ...1962 hit
https://youtu.be/PU5xxh5UX4U
I was in Grade 7, and introduced to dances in the Grand Bay High auditorium when this song hit the charts. It was barely before the Beatles invaded North America.
Happy Father's Day to Jackson!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you for the wonderful review and kind compliments, dear Kimbob. Happy Belated Father's Day to you. We are on vacation, and working a little getting my remaining books ready for publishing. Our grandchildren are here for today and Jackson is outside with them. A day of full play today. I'm answering a few reviews and drinking coffee. Thanks so much and have a wonderful day,

Hello Sal.
Unfortunately, I remember when this was popular the first time around. I even remember where I was the day that I heard Elvis died in 1977. It was such a shock to hear that he had died.
He had one of the purist, most talented voices ever. He had good singing range and he had great personality. I saw a video last week of him on the Ed Sullivan show and Sullivan called him a good boy. That was quite an experience.

Of course I know this one. Who doesn't know Elvis? Even my granddaughter, who didn't know who Mick Jagger was, knows Elvis. All of his music was awesome. Love it.

From all accounts, Sally, that song was one of the most popular ones Elvis recorded. He sang it with such genuine love in his voice. I know from history that girls were infatuated with him forever. You did a great job with this account of him, his song, and the response it generated. The videos were great tom hear a 'real' song rather than today's mostly worthless 'songs.' Elvis' songs were well written and recorded, and told a great little story. He was awesome with his spiritual recordings, too.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

I agree. It's my sisterhood's favorite from Elvis. You can't grown up in the south without a steady diet of cheese grits and Elvis. Sending you my best today as always,.Sal XOs....
