A thought provoking write about the poet feeling lost at having reached her so-called destiny. She is wondering how and why she came there. She is actually disillusioned with the course her life is taking.
A lovely poem!!

I think you have given insight here we all have shared at times. I think we holler "help!" a lot more than we let on! A delight, thanks for sharing.

Well, I am geographically challenged, so I can definitely relate to this one my friend. I often wonder how I got here, but more often...I wonder where am I?
thanks for sharing and I wish you well in the contest,
karen

Stone still is why you are there. Getting stoned sometimes puts you in places you wonder how did I get here? Good luck in the contest. I will look for it in the booth.

Your rhymed 5-7-5 amuses as well as reminds the reader of those times when we really don't know where we're going...or why. Well done. :) nancy

Nice little philosophical ha ha on how we end up where we are. Maybe you are a sleep walker or a refugee from Atlantis. My only suggestion- get rid of the commas after still, pier and steer and add a dash after steer.

Thank you, I only added them for extra poetic stress on the alliteration. I appreciate your review and your suggestions.

Stone still, on the pier,
Yet I know not how to steer,
How did I get here?
An amazing verse, so true, and it will remind
us not to take any route except to be aware. Terry

Lovely stuff! We've all been here in life; this poem is a reminder to trust our hearts, to be flexible and not to be afraid to change your course if the path you are on is making you unhappy. Great that you convey this message through metaphor and in just a few words.

An interesting 5-7-5 message. What a dilemma, this unfortunate fellow has struggled to achieve success only to find that he doesn't have a clue about what he's doing or where he's at in life. Good luck in your contest.

Hello Gabrieltheswifter,
Keeping in mind the Author Notes, it's a nice piece of Humor Poetry and thought provoking also.
When we are in an absent minded mood while walking or strolling, such things sometimes happen and all of a sudden, accidentally or intuitively, we come to know about it. Then we laugh without letting others know and soon try to evade the on lookers/ by standers or the passers by.
Its wording is simple, having smooth flow, meeting all the required norms.
Marvelous! Best of Luck!
