I am sure all the children are delighted that you are the story teller . This story in a poem becomes a good lesson about compromise. Because if you always want your way, and the other person is as stubborn as you are then your're just going to sink.
Well done, good luck, Carolyn

Funny how we each want our own way and sometime we just don't budge. I loved your story and your author notes. You're a good story teller

rhyming quatrains in 6/5/6/5 'Zerubbabel Baxter.' What an interesting story you tell via the Bible, Brooke. I often find inspiration in the trusted and well versed Bible. Well done.

I can't pronounce the Z name, but I so enjoyed reading this creative story Brooke. So true to life, how 2 people can be so stubborn and neither one will give in. And I'm not talking children. I really enjoyed this poem and good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much, Barb :-) And yes, you're right, plenty of adults act this way. Brooke

Delightful, although a little sad. But it packs quite a message, that there must be give and take and compromise in all friendships. But Zee and Tee were very strong minded and tried to stay true to their convictions, and it ended not happily.
Nevertheless I loved the way it read aloud with good rhythm and rhyme throughout.
Loved it.
Thanks for sharing Brooke.

You borrowed Zarubbabel's interesting name to good advantage in this delightful story poem. To pair it with an ordinary-sounding name like "Baxter" gives it even extra comic punch. It makes a great children's poem with a useful moral. (I'll bet you tell a story as well as you write one - would love to sit in on your VBS story-telling session!) Love, Jeanie

You are a wag, Brooke, with your storytelling. Never an opportunity missed I would say for you to tell a story in verse. This one is delightful, too, and another one for the 'book', Giddy

Loved your little rhyming parable.
I should share it with some married friends of mine who ships are rotting in anchor for just those reasons. LOL
And, I am sure, many would say that our own Congress is sinking over similar issues.
You wonderfully crafted writes are always so rich in content.
