The poem and the pic remind me of a story I read to my little grandkids--can't go over it, can't go under it, have to go thru it. With variations. Lol. Cute poem here that is inspirational for kids (and adults) as yours usually are.

Oh. This is a perfect companion to the other piece. I wish I had a matching six to go with it as this is as good as the other one. Another upbeat and uplifting piece. A little different message here, but the same idea. Make do with what you have and improvise if you have to. Great piece. mikey

I love the poem and I loved the line about how when everything goes dark I'll find a brighter flame. That's what I need to do. Great job friend

Brooke, Great motivation for an adult as well for Sawyer. "If I can't, I'll find a way!" Sawyer's photo is perfect for your message. I assume you compose your poems to match Sawyer's pictures. Sweet as always. Carole

Another wonderful poem by you!
I have read a couple of your previous pieces, and I am very impressed with your ability to convey so much through poetry.
Even though you adhere to a set rhyme scheme, your words always seem effortless, like they would be chosen regardless of whether they rhyme or not. This is a true accomplishment, as many rhyming poems can feel "forced" and therefore not authentic.
Thanks for always producing great material :)

This is a very inspirational piece. Very well said. We should never give up and always believe we can make it, if we think and put in the work.

Great poem on perseverance! This is something kids need to learn, and like everything else that is challenging to today's pamppered kids, it's being downplayed. Someday when they need preseverance they'll be clueless. NOt Sawyer, though.. his family has the right idea. :)

Thanks so much, Phyllis. A pampered 18 year old girl rearended my daughter-in-law yesterday with a brand new huge Jeep with those oversized tires, that ran right over the top of Tamara's back bumper and crushed the trunk. What parent buys a kid that age such a huge, fancy, brand new car? Luckily, Tamara is OK, but the car is wrecked. And I bet her daddy doesn't even ground her.

I tutor high school kids in this upper middle class town. Lots of wealthy folks in those huuuuge new houses. I'd say about half my students get BRAND NEW CARS as soon as they get their licenses! I'm driving the car my mom left... it's exactly 20 years old, and Mark's car has 240,000 miles on it. Yet these children drive $30,000 cars at age 16. It's UNREAL. My daughter inherited my old Jeep when I upgraded to a newer used Jeep. She STILL has it... it's a 1998 and has had a few systems replaced, and she did a lot of the work HERSELF. She's soooo much like her dad. Not at all pampered, that's for sure. :)

More sage wisdom for Sawyer. He will grow up a welladjusted lad indeed.
This is fun and whimsical. These are my favorite lines...
If I can't quench my thirst, I'll find the nearest stream,
and if my bubble's burst, I'll dream a different dream.
I love the the bubbles burst/dream a different dream line...very poetically expressed.
Your last few entries have provided me with new ideas to tackle...thank you.

Hi Brooke,
UH-OH, I see the construction pylons by Sawyer! That means more work ahead once he finishes with the hoops and sails the sea.
Fun poem.
Cheers * Keep Smilin'.... Jax
