Comment from mystery poet
'Song of Myself' probably one of his most beloved.
Yet, and yet...this has borne itself into the new
world of poetry to be beset on library shelf in shared
reverence among the great poets of our time...Ah,
yes, another Whitman is born...

Do you believe we never studied much of Whitman in school mp? "American poets" were dismissed as "modern" - ugh - only English poetry for us! But I guess it's the reverse in America (I've noticed - I have a 16 year old in school here!) :)Sharyn

From your foot note I understand how you got the inspiration for this excellent poem. Lovely alliteration and a true Ode about you. Can't have been very easy to make.

Moi? No problem robina! :)))))) actually I was looking up "Odes" and thought how dull they sounded, then realized Walt had written one to himself, so the light went on!

You leave us breathless and fascinated. May we share your joy after all are we not all of us the acme of God's creation? But why does the Almighty fight shy of us, I can't help wondering. Lets bask in our perfection. We have all of nature and the universe with which to relate, to share in. Are we not God's guardians of this world. Do I sense something of the dramatic amidst your lyricism. Drama and the lyrical make fine partners. -Ekim777

thank you, Ekim - I agree! Drama and lyricism are what I love to weave through my writing, my friend, and I'm so glad you can see that!

Comment from Enrique28
This poem reads beautifully with its great upbeat mood, use of language, and lovely poetic tones. An excellent expression of " life is what you make it" comes wonderfully across in the humour. I love your concept of God as described by:
"finding him, or Her, hidden"
Great presentation!!

Enrique! thank you SOOOOOO MUCH! I'm totally delighted that you enjoyed this one! It was an easy write for me this afternoon and there was finally some quiet, magic time for me here. Blessings for your magic '6' - you've just made my night! (You're only my 2nd review, and I'm always a little tenuous about posting something new - I get too close to it, and don't know if it's good or not!)
Best wishes
Sharyn

Hey my teacher, you brake the scale with this work. The style is unique, and I like the swimming of internal rhymes in the work. Good write.
