Patty, you have followed the form well - from syllable count to using the prescribed rhyme scheme, which can be a bit tricky. I also enjoyed your rhymes, especially gnarly. LOL This is a cute portrait of Harley in good ampeletum form : -) Brooke

Yay! I'm so glad you had a chance to read and review early on - I really wanted to know what you thought, and your kind words are greatly appreciated. (I had to dig out the Rhyming dictionary to come up with gnarly.) Thank you SO much. ~patty~

Great poem, esp. for puppy lovers. I can't say that I totally understand the techs, but your word choice brought out the fun--and not so fun--things about our little furry friends.

A very sweet tribute to a very sweet dog. I too have a puppy in the house and so beyond the great word picture you paint, I can relate in real life to the little yips, yaps and even snarls that match the little rows of teeth marks. Thanks. It makes me want to go hug my pup. I find this style interesting and you do it with such ease it makes me want to try my hand at it too. Very enjoyable piece.

Thank you! I greatly appreciate your remark about the rhythm and rhyme. I obsessed over the lines and tried to follow the pattern exactly. I'm glad you enjoyed Harley's Ampeletum. ~patty~

These words have found such a joyous spot in my heart. I, too have a Jack Russell named Bandit. And, these words fit him perfectly, in addition to being a wonderfully well crafted poem. (Yes, I did lose Gilbert, my Toy Poodle at Thanksgiving but I still have Bandit.)

I am SO sorry to hear about Gilbert. Have we seen any pictures of Bandit? I'm assuming from the name, he has a mask like Harley's. Thank you for reading and the generous review. I'm glad I brought you joy. ~patty~

How is he doing? You did tell me when you got him last week, and I was so excited for you. Harley is the best companion I've had in years. Thank you for reading and the generous review. ~patty~
