I see this is doing quite well without me. This is outstanding, dear Rhonda. A fine work, and so fresh from your own life's experience. My husband and I had three sons four years apart and they loved that red Radio Flyer wagon.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally xoxoxo!!

Sally, thank you for the beautiful 6 star rating. You are so very sweet. I?m glad you have good memories of the red wagon, yourself. Three boys, nice! I had two and one girl. The girl was first, so she tempered Their roughness a bit.
Take care,
Rhonda

The Radio Flyer is so full of memories, but how wonderful that is has again found a purpose and is out in the sunshine providing service because it is a sturdy and reliable friend.
Love the picture.

Fun! Nostalgia gets me every time. You also get points for re-purposing and recycling. And Gardening. And pretty good rhymes. Not much of a poetry review--just a thank you for the smiles.

Thank you so much. I had started to make it a story, since I'm trying to make a series of them, but this one just sort of flowed into a poem. I appreciate your time and comments,
Take care,
Rhonda

I love the Radio Flyer wagon. I had one myself 70 years ago, bought two for my sons and gave one to my granddaughter. That in itself is inspirational. I'm thinking about buying another wagon, the same model just for myself and reminiscence. Your poem is very, very nice. Best wishes.

Thank you so much, Victor!! I had lost track of the wagon until I came across it at my parent's house after they passed away. I guess the kids took it there at some point to play, and we never took it back home. That's a good thing, because my dad kept it in a safe place.
I do so very much appreciate the six star rating. That is as heart-warming as your comments.
Take care,
Rhonda

I loved this poem. I will say a few lines threw the meter off, but think it was a unique poem because I have never seen a poem about a wagon before. I think you did well with it.

Hello Rhonda,
Much depends upon a little red wagon,
reborn as a potato hauler.
If wagons could sing,
this one would be singing the Potato Song.
Loved your rhymed couplets that sail down memory lane
from ship to stallion, and now a garden companion.
How many bounced out as the wagon rolled along?
Great picture to match.
Six potatoes!
Robert

Thank you for the brilliant six potato review, Robert, lol.
I had to stop several times to replace bouncers as I headed to home with the booty. Good call on that one.
My husband was the one who loaded it up while I was meeting with another a Master Gardener. When I saw it, I had to take a picture. Mind you it was over 90 degrees outside and he was pretty tired, so I have been more excited about the esthetic quality of his harvest than he was, but he?s a good sport.
Thanks again for the six potatoes,
Rhonda

Such a lovely poem. When I was younger, kids didn't really play in wagons anymore, but I got a good idea of them from your poem. I am glad it could be repurposed! A delightful end!

Rhonda,
I pray you and your family are well during this pandemic. I love this artwork of the little red wagon. It does bring back many childhood memories for me, and I'm sure many others. I really enjoyed this well-written poem of the lost things of childhood. Beautifully descriptive and so many passionate phrases. Thank you so much for sharing this poem that brought back so many memories. I truly hope you are enjoying your garden and family. So glad your father shared the gift of story telling to you. Thank you. Well-done. Happy writing:-)
