I think this is a good entry for the 5-7-5 Poem contest.
Your short verse tells of getting the waffles before they disappear.

That waffle looks delicious and I know they are a favourite with Americans. I rarely eat them, but I would love to try your homemade ones! You made my mouth water here, Merry Christmas, love Dolly x

Here's my recipe: 1 cup sourdough starter, 2 cups bread flour, 1-2 eggs, 3 tablespoons of butter or vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 tablespoon sugar. Mix it all up really well. Can be used to make pancakes too!
