This poem uses repetition to advance the theme and increase the emotion.
It reminds us there can be love again after a death of a spouse.
Good luck. Keep writing

When we lose something, there may be something better right around the corner. The trick is in being patient waiting for it. Nicely composed and illustrated. Marilyn

Thank you, Marilyn.

I love your triple word repetitions. They really make this sound like something you might put to music, or at least have music in the background while it is being recited. And the mantra.....yes, we do have our mantras, don't we? And I, for one, know the feeling of that last stanza.

Thank you, Susan. Yeah, I wish everyone could relate to that last stanza. And a forever love. Do you believe in forever love?

With my college sweetheart, yes. But that's a really different kind of story. Think of the song Sing in the Sunshine

Heh! I Googled the song, and went down distraction-city! But also discovered a cool singer! You were referring to Gale Garnett's song, right?

I love the repetition of the words to enhance the feeling and the progression of love lost and love found. When we think it is gone for good, we find better

Thank you for your kind review, Barb. I wrote this with my co-worker in mind - the one who lost her fiance in January. I haven't contacted her in a while. I hope she's found a good friend by now.
