Must have fallen off as the car drove away i reckon What a pity - I love those old diaries - in the used book stores as we travel I watch for them. we found one once from the l940s - most interesting - but it ended abruptly so we wondered if the woman had died or left her husband. they're hard to find - those old diaries.

That is interesting. I used to collect "old" books. I still have them. The oldest one is over 500 years old, an incunabula. I have others three to four hundred years old. All in Latin or Greek and one from Peru from colonial times in an old form of Spanish.

Wow - you do have a collection - can you read most of them? I too have shelves full of "keepable" books that I dread having to get rid of - they're just special - not real old some of them - but the authors are so enjoyed.

Lots and lots of really cool vision wrapped up in this one, John -- great idea! :) ;) I do have a couple of points to offer (and you are certainly free to ignore them!):
First, your second line is actually four syllables as diary is a three-syllable word.
Second, the flow of your Lune would be much more traditional in flow if you were switch it around (and eliminate the punctuation) something like this:

Old diary left
on car roof
Distant memories

Thanx for sharing, sir, and best of luck in the contest!

    You sweetheart. :)
Thank you. I knew I should checked my syllable count in diary. The English language was created to drive us and. LOL

Hi John, You got me 'coming and going' with that one! Hahahaha! That was very clever. :) I have left things on my car before. I actually left my cellphone on my car once. I made it out of my driveway, (a miracle as it's fairly steep) all the way up my street and down what would be considered about 4 blocks to a red light. When it turned green it came off in the intersection. I found it when I re-traced my steps later. I couldn't believe it didn't fall off in my driveway!

Susan, that's brilliant that your Sherlock Holmes instinct kicked in to retrace your steps and solve the case. Well done. LOL

So glad you enjoyed this offering.

Our travels take us far and wide and you captured them in this unique write here, it is usually a purse or a cup of coffee left on a car roof, but now we have our memoirs, fine words, love Dolly x
