What a delightful poem. It can be viewed as a child enjoying the rain but it speaks to me of a bold and optimistic person who can handle whatever storms of life that comes her way, seeking the good and dancing to her own unique drum beat.
Congratulations on the win!!

So glad you could relate to this piece on children!

Love, love, love times a million zillion. This one melted my heart, especially after I read the Author Notes you provided. (I took the poem just literally until I read those.) Out of fairness, I'm going to read all the entries in this contest, but I cannot imagine that any of them can possibly beat them for my vote. This is exquisite. xo

I voted for it. And I see you are FAR out in front. I'm so glad about that because it is beautiful. xo

-Very nice artwork
and presentation.
-Your note is appreciated.
-The form and rhyme are good.
-I like your topic, and the
imagery paints a vivid word
picture of the child.
-I like the lines about dancing
and the rainbows.
-They show how positive she
is regardless of circumstances.
-The conclusion is good, too.
-A good entry; good luck.

This is a fun poem with great rhymes and rhythm. I also like the story it tells - of a child learning to be independent or self-reliant. Finally the images really capture childhood.

A very well-written Ottawa Rhima about the child of the rain that enjoy the rain with her umbrella and rain boots there is nothing better that can beat the joy of playing in the rain and puddles of water.

This is good, a bit funny, and well thought out. I can see her with her rain jacket, rain boots, and her fierce determination braving the elements. She releases her rain sword from its sheath that protects her from the rain. I like it and enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done!

A lovely, gentle poem with strong rhyme and meter, evocative of a piece from "A Child's Garden of Verses." I can see this being made into an illustrated story book. Good luck with the contest.

This tells the story of a confident child of rain, she remains unfazed at storms or storm clouds hiding the sun, she enjoys and makes her own brand of fun; well said, well done. Write to inspire, change -- DR ALCREATOR
