I admired your selection of the very tactile artwork to complement your thought-provoking, 2-4-2. Your poem should be our mantra and your alliteration of "s's" intensifies it. Congratulations on having the entry well received in the contest- Joan

Thank you for this wonderful review, Joan -- it's good to read that you found some of subtleties that I try to 'sneak' into even these smaller writes. :) ;) My apologies for the delayed response, but this weekend was my youngest's graduation and all the company that accompanies that. ;) ;) You try to have a relaxing Sunday afternoon, ma'am, and thanx for stopping by! ;) ;) Yvette ;)

Thank you for taking time from the celebration to send your warm response. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and extra company. Smiles- Joan

Thanks so much for writing this! I think, in our world, all of us need this type of thought process to keep going! One foot in front a the other, is always what I say...

Thanx so much for your review on this one, John -- I appreciate your stopping by, sir... and, yes, the youth today need to learn to let the missteps be a sharpening tool and not a battering ram! ;) ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

I really like this, the rougher road often has benefits beyond its detriments. This 2,4,2 entry is a reminder that our perceptions are often formed by our circumstances, which may be misunderstood; not everything bad to you is bad for you.:-) Good luck.

Glad you enjoyed this one, Stephen -- I have fun with these 'shorties'... they're a good transition into summer time writing when I've still got so much on the end of the year calendar! ;) ;) Thanx for stopping in and take care! ;) ;) Yvette

How does the saying go? That which does not kill us only makes us stronger. I have seen so many collapse when pricked by the rougher edges of life. Yes, it is perseverance that keeps us in the game. Loren

This 2-4-2, For a Reason, has the right set up and accepts the tough times as they test our resolve and help to make us stronger.

You said it Yvette. Sharpens our will and sometimes our claws. :) Life is not always a ride on the merry-go-round, most times the swing break and down comes our world. We learn from our mistakes, but they still hurt. This is a good entry for the 2-4-2 Poetry contest.

Yes, it is the rough spots in life that make us or break us. Those few words have a very poignant message, and it reminds us that when the obstacles seem insurmountable, that's right when the miracle happens. I will continue to forge on, as you will and others also. What else is there? That pot of gold should be a-loomin' up round yonder corner any time now...

So true, because rough spots, times induce to go within and reflect on what lesson can, is to be learned from the experience. And consequently
we move on with clearer vision and willpower. The whole of life is one big
mirror and up to us to smash it or look into it, see what it reflects, also about ourselves.

Thanks for lovely response and I too believe we have a lot in common. I shall not be reviewing much or at all, because very busy preparing for moving house and more out and about than online - outdoor girl! Wish you a great week too, without too many waves at your end of the Pond, Susan x

Well, then, here's sending extra sunshine and prayer support your way, ma'am -- so glad this one could speak to you, Trisha! :) ;) Take good care of you and, in between 'sharpening times', be sure to just breathe... :) ;) Yvette :)
