This limerick about card games, Early Days of 007, has the correct framework and rhyme. The beat is a bit stretched, but I see by a show of votes that no one 'holds' that against you. happy day.

Your poem's theme being provided by the well-known figure playing James Bond was a fabulous idea. I love the photograph. I don't think I've ever played "I doubt it." Do you doubt me?

If he was indeed good as this game, then, I can see how he could be such a great spy. Being able to persuade and convince people of things are powerful tools. This is a fun write. The artwork is spot on and the rhyme and flow is superb. I enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done!

Haha this an excellent example of a Limerick.
I loved it. Made me laugh and the choice of James Bind was just perfect for the subject in hand. Pun intended. LOL
Well done.

Okay, as a big fan of card games, this is one poem I will have to bookcase -- not only did I love the contest entry, I love the notes, and all the instruction about how to play the game. :)) Good luck in the booth!

LOL! :) Yeah, when we played it, it was called 'Bullsh**' and me and my cousins used to have a blast! ;) Have to say that those skills really did come in handy working in a field dominated primarily by men... oh, the stories I could tell.... :) ;) :) Thanx for the review and enjoy the 'book' - lol! ;)

This limerick is a delightful spoof of the James Bond mythology. Yes, we can easily believe he was a constant winner at "I doubt it" (thanks for explaining the game). Excellent rhymes chosen. Rod

James Bond was one of my favorites, but No one played the part like Sean
Connery This is an excellent short poem with very good rhyme. The picture of Connery playing cards fits your poem perfectly. Good job.

I truly enjoyed your limerick! It was bouncy and melodic. I also enjoyed reading the info about the card game "I doubt it."
Reading all of these posts from so many poets like yourself. I'm learning about all kinds of poetry and history as well. I am inspired by you all!
