This a well written, clever response to the prompt. Your poetic excuses for keeping everything are quite funny, too. I especially like the reference to the concert shirt again fitting you and the bookends giving the place class. Well done.

Ok. This hit home. I have a garage so full my car spends winters outside in the snow. This is well written and I like your last line, "A bulldozer is a safe bet." Good luck in your contest.

Hilarious! Many good examples that nearly any reader can relate to. I especially like "my mom made those afghans." I have oodles of those blankets!

Earl--
Trouble is the hoarding show is frightening -- like a metaphor for some of our brains. I really like this, and like your fight to maintain your "memory" until you don't in the second to last stanza. I'm of the opinion, show be damned, that your narrator is right to maintain his hoard. Don't give in to reality here is the point.

Thanks
Wabigoon/Jeff

This story is so funny and reminds me a little of my daughter's house, even down to the horseshoes! I want to copy it and send it to her! Can't wait to see how well this does in the competition. Aren't we ALL just a little bit horders? :) I have things I just cannot part with.

I absolutely love this. It made me laugh out loud because I could actually identify with some of those excuses, I've used them. It is so funny how we can rationalize our collection of stuff. The funny thing is that deep down we know that this stuff must go. Thanks so much for making laugh.

Wow! What can one say about this write. Much to consider about the poets' thoughts. Seems to be a good contest entry. Who knows, strange things happen, you just might win.

Love it. I couldn't help thinking about my mom when reading this. She is the worst hoarder in the world. 40 years of hard labour in her beloved garden and it still looks like a bomb hit it thanks to the clutter. God bless mothers!

The truth be told!! We all can empathize. Your rhyming is perfect even if you join the rest of us in our faults. Good luck.
