Lol. Well, I think you captured a lot of those elements of the wild west with outlaws and fast shooting and even faster escaping. Enjoyed reading your story poem, Earl.
"Uh-oh this could how it ends" (missing a word like 'be')

Congratulations on your 1st place win!!
This use to be one of my favorite shows growing up.
You chose all the right pictures ... Richard Boone (Paladin), his calling card, the icon of the show's name showing Paladin drawing his gun.
The words of your poem held humor, and I loved your rhyme.
I love the old Westerns, and I love this poem :)

I like the idea and do feel the western theme of this piece. However, it felt somewhat choppy and was a little hard to read, but that might be because I don't know a lot about poetry.
Good luck.

Thank you Linda. My favorite western was Alias Smith and Jones. I wish the western would make a comeback, I'm tired of cops and legal shows. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review my work.

I am with you Earl...I would much rather have the westerns back...and you my friend are so welcome...love xxoo

Your story is certainly Old West. It is well-plotted, smoothly flowing,
and entertaining (maybe not the best word choice since two men ended
up dead!).

LOL! You ended up a long way from John Wayne. Funny how the muse works. I like this poem. You get into the mind of an outlaw and take off soaring "like a bat out of hell." Excellent rhyming with "moot" and "pursuit."

Had to smile as I read through this. Certainly easy to read in a pleasant rhyme scheme, but more than that, reminded me of times past. My parents didn't usually watch shows that we all liked, e.g., Lawrence Welk, Syd Ceasar, etc. I can tell you though, we all loved 'Have Gun Will Travel'. Well done.
