This is such a wise poem. Your first stanza is downright philosophical. I perceive opportunities as something to seize. Otherwise you live your life with regrets. I can't even imagine an instance where an opportunity could lead to a "deterioration of one's soul." That is the only line that I wondered about. It was a good observation to see an opportunity as sometimes being a mirage. They don't always pan out after all.
You give me lots to ponder here. I enjoyed it.

Didn?t you know I?m wise and philosophical already!? LOL. As to ?deterioration of one?s soul? I was thinking of the opportunity to get, use, and become addicted to street drugs. I thank you so much for your kind review

Alliteration, well used, so too the internal rhyme in your free verse Trish. A great choice of topic, the window of opportunity. Well done, enjoyed,
cheers,

Yes, it's true, one never knows. It's difficult to know when an opportunity is going to lead us to better things.
Lovely poem and presentation.
Thanks for sharing.

A very well-written free verse poem about the window of opportunity that we somnetimes ignore or just don't notice when it comes to us. We should always be prepared and ready when the opportunity comes our way.

This is the first free verse poem I have ever given a six star rating to. I enjoyed I like the comparisons of opportunity to an oasis, caution, and a chamelion. Your poem made sense and invoked emotions within the reader. Very nice job.

A poignant write, and I loved these words: "Opportunity is often thrown to the wind
along with its cousin caution" we reach a crossroads in life and taking the wrong road means everything changes, love Dolly x

-Very nice image and
presentation, Trisha.
-I like the colored fonts,
and the topic is a good one.
-I also like how you incorporate
the word opportunity
in each verse.
-The description is also
effective, along with
comparisons to an oasis,
and a chameleon; the lines
following that are good with
the addition of alliteration.
-A good conclusion, too.
-Thanks for sharing.

I loved the colors...turquoise grabbed me and red has its dire warning. I loved the admonition to seize the day..
life, love, and learning can linger
Luxuriate, levitate or leave....
God bless
