Considering some of the things I plan on doing tonight, I hope that I will be able or allowed to forget. Even more importantly, I hope that any eyewitnesses will be willing to forget and please no cameras. I do not need nor do I desire to confronted with filmed evidence of my planned debauchery.

Woke up in my own bed and no hangover. Wow!

You capture the essence of the New Year party.
liked especially:
your selected abstract illustration
"acquaintances forgotten"
"my dear" phrasing
Middle line text is formatted with italics (one word) and I think unbolded for "forgotten" - author's intended choice or not?

Thank you, Mark, for giving this a look. Must have missed the second word for italics. First and third lines were to be bolded.
-
Bill,
And your middle line was meant to be unbolded? I'm OK with that, if you are OK with it.

It should register as a fade. Thanks again.

Lol. Too bad that the acquaintances are forgotten. It's usually the names that I forget first. Good use of the song title that we always associate with New Year's.

Ah, the good old days...are were they? Maybe the future is brighter. Acquaintances are like those secondary characters in our stories. Que Sera, Sera! It times like this I don't feel so bad not having many friends. ;)
Love your artwork choice! I count 5-7-5 syllable.

Must have been a bit too much of the bubbly. Hubby and I forgot to get Champagne this year. Wonder if the bottle we had left over from last year will be all right? I remember my husband's office parties from years ago. We knew when one woman had had too much to drink, because she always burst into singing "All of Me." Artwork for your post looks like "This is your brain on something or other." Great idea for New Year's Eve. Have a great one, and Happy New Year. judi

This little ditty is cute. I imagine it will be true for many tonight. Your artwork is sparkly and reminds me of a headache. I wish you a very Happy New Year and hope you will be good and not overdo!!

Yep, there are quite a few "acquaintances" I would just as soon forget, Bill.
The majority of them are of the female variety, or the fairer sex.
Find 'em, feel 'em...fuc...well... you know the rest.
Here's to a prosperous 2019!
CHEERS!

As a teacher of mine used to say, "Short and sweet and hard to beat." You are right on point. The few words say a lot. I really like it. You don't disappoint, I am quickly learning. Write on!
