Stunning Mother's Day contest entry Judestar, I love the way you offer your rhyme scheme here. The picture threw me a bit from what it was about and the color background too - so I like the contrast of a blue for Mother's Day - blue is one of my favorite colors and I'm a mom. So there is no rule that says it has to be pink or along that line - but maybe a picture of a blue bouquet might have been a good one to find. Just something that I noted as I was reading the poem. Either way I will probably be voting for yours. Doesn't this contest end like way in the future too? Wow you are getting a jump start I think on 2019 for sure! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you - Cheers, Fonda

This is the kind of greeting card verse any mother--young orvold--would appreciate. I especially like your last stanza. Rod

Thanks for the review rod. It is true life and I know the best gift my mom loves to receive is her daughter happy, safe and smiling. Cheaper than flowers and non refundable. Cheers, j

Thanks for the thoughtful and insightful review my friend. I think that you know the feeling when you come home and your mom knows that you are safe and happy, is a gift at that specific moment. Ahhh, moms. My snow sculpture has morphed from elephant to polar bear to some little white rodent after the unseasonal rains. sigh, judester
