This poem on the personification of winter is outstanding. Sorry I don't have a sixer for you. Image and theme are over-the-top great. This looks like a winner to me. Marilyn

I wonder how I would personify winter? Have to think about that. I love winter, and I miss it now that I live in the land of perpetual sunshine. Your Ms. Winter is elegant, even regal, smelling of spruce, but so cool in demeanor - icy and aloof. Her presence, as described, makes me feel ill at ease right with you! The final stanza has superb rhyme of gaiety with solemnity. Well done, it is a beautiful poem, Rod.

Thank you very much, Carol, for reviewing ?Ms. Winter? and your high praise. I found ?her? easy to characterize because I don?t like winter at all. I am delighted you like the final stanza so much. Rod

Wow! You brightened a gloomy, rainy morning with those six bright stars. I am truly honored by your response to ?Ms. Winter.? Many, many thanks! Rod

I enjoyed your rhymed quatrains and use of alliteration plus personification in this description. Your final line about "Winter's stark solemnity" is compelling. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

This contest inspired many great poems from Fan Story writers. What I like about yours is the way it captured of the central core of your winter character--her cold beauty and disdain for others.

HELLO RODG: I like your posting here because it reminds me of a passage that I read in my Holy Bible at: ECCLESIASTES chapter 3. After reading this Biblical passage, I feel so much better about, Ms. Winter. WOW! She is extremely pretty...isn't she.? Now that I know that she's Ms. Winter...I suppose that I'll propose to her. (smile.) Cordially: rhonnie69.

This was my choice of all the entries. Lovely artwork accompanied by words that painted a picture of a beautiful, regal, but cool ruler. One who cannot be ignored when she enters center stage. Well done.

What a well rhymed (while I didn't notice the rhyme until the end because it flowed so well) and poetically penned piece personifying winter in the female voice. The imagery and flow were superb and the language was reminiscent of the olden poets. Great job. Good form. Excellent presentation. Lovely pic. Just an all around beautiful penning here with first place appeal! Good Luck.

This personification of winter, Ms. Winter, written in ABCB rhymed quatrains, brings Winter in as a lovely woman whose presence is both admired and disliked. A true love hate relationship.

She is beautiful but oh so cold. Your use of words captures Winter in all her beauty yet I can feel the chilly air as I read your words. I like the line where her presence makes you ill at ease, I feel the same. This is an excellent entry for the contest.
