Okay--this is my new favorite. First of all, I love the charming picture of this cute creature. Rhyming and content are very good, humorous, whimsical, and probably good advice for everybody--wear pants and watch your tongue when speaking. Marilyn

Hi Bill, another great a fun poem of yours. So now we're into the Aardvark world, Lol.
Axel had difficulty to adapt to his new world. Poor thing. Wonderful poem. All the best. Ulla:))

Hi, Bill;
The silly aardvark didn't realize this new neighborhood had rules, huh?
Poor guy - I wonder where an aardvark would go to buy pants?

Good advice for not only Aardvarks, but people as well. It is a lesson I tried to teach to my son and my grandson. The fact that they did learn and observe this very good advice is a main reason for my pride in their success. It is also a lesson I learned, however, I had to learn it the hard way as I was almost an adult before I received and accepted the lesson. Goo writing Bill.

I guess I am wondering if it was wearing pants, holding their tongue, or not trying to borrow ants?

You may well wonder.

I like the poem with its double meaning. For one, it speaks to the individual new to the community who has to adjust to the social norms. While the other tell about the habits of the anteater.

Well hello and good morning, Bill: I forgot to come to visit your part of town. (portfolio) I'm sorry but I did finally check in this morning. I hope this is okay.
I found this great poem. I love the photo and it goes so well with the wonderful poem. I haven't see a picture of an Aardvark in many years. When I saw this post I thought of the dictionary. The Aardvark is usually the first word or the first animal word in the dictionary. It's a great post! Please have a wonderful day!

Comment from Gloria ....
What an adorable little animal us the Aardvark. Even though he needs some schooling in proper manners, especially the part about holding his tongue, I'd say he's more than welcome in the neighbourhood.
Great job friend, Bill.

Really? How does one find pants for an aardvark? Lol. It's good that Axel is a flexible, well adapting aardvark. Holding his very long tongue also sounds difficult. Well, hope the neighbors like him.

He buffers his social pain with the knowledge he's listed first in the dictionary.
