Good afternoon, Brett:
We are getting somewhere now with this story. It has been extremely interesting so far but now its getting to the point where the story is addressing my curiosity.
"Darren knew his past was now his present.". Beautiful, I knew it was coming to this. I can't wait to see how this kid is related to the other murderer but it is clear there is some relation there. Why else would revenge be the reason.
I am still anticipating the rest of this marvelous story. I'm so sorry but I ran out of sixes. I have to learn to save you one or two.
I just posted " Two Boys Stabbed In School Classroom". You might like that one. Let me know.

Darden continues to search the rooms, looking for clues that would help him understand who did the murderous acts. Even though, Drew confessed to the acts, is it possible that a thirteen-year-old did them? With the aid of past reading material, it showed likeness, but he continues the head-scratching.

You paint a chilling picture. The detective's horror is papable. You leave the reader begging for more. Can't wait for the rest. Mary

Your story is progressing nicely. Drew is still the only suspect they have and by his own account he is guilty of murder. Darden finds a ribbon with "revenge" written on it and this is apparently Drews motive. It's not looking good for Drew. Great story.

Plenty of doom and gloom still to go I imagine. All very stark and mysterious. I am keen to read about the solution to the connection between these two murders. Very expressive and drawing writing friend.

Good strong wording to portray the crime scene. I can quite easily visualise the blood and smell the death.
This is going to be a great work, but as usual I am left waiting for the next instalment with baited breath

Glad you enjoyed this portion of chapter five.
Can't provide all the answers in one chapter. That would make an awfully short story.
As always, appreciate you taking the time to read it and to write another very informative review.

This is a good chapter. I love the eerie way it is linked to the Lancaster murders.
Are you having fun torturing us? Every time you end on a really cool note, we have to wait with bated breath for the next chapter. Now you need to make a boring end. LOL!

While this is skillfully written and records the detective's physical and emotional reactions, I would like to into the mind of Drew for a change of pace. Novels usually have a subplot. I haven't picked one up here except for Drew's reference to the fact that the detective knew.

There is a subplot that will be defined soon.
Have to get Darden out of the house first.
Thanks for asking about that issue.
I appreciate your comments, support, and insights.

I could find no errors in this very well-written chapter. That may be because I was too engrossed in the story to notice but I did skim through again to make sure. All I found were vivid descriptions, naturally flowing dialogues and a great nail-biting chapter!
