Thanks for the review and wishing you a happy New Year, cheers, j

The poem in seven or fewer words, Lost Love, uses six words to bring the situation into full view. It employs a bit of rhyme to lighten the mood of what would otherwise be a totally depressing scenario.

This reminded me of the bet Hemmingway won to write a story in 6 words. He wrote ...baby shoes for sale never worn. Just those few words conjures up an vivid image of sadness. Thanks for the insightful review Bill. Wishing you all the very best for the New Year and I look forward to sharing our stories, cheers, j

Wow, great job! I love this poem - you were able to pack so much meaning into just seven words! I'm also impressed with the rhyme you were able to fit in - sale/veil. Both that and the line separation really help the poem flow nicely.

Thanks for the encouraging review and shiny stars to light my way. I was thinking of Hemmingway when he won a bet by writing a story of only 6 words, baby shoes for sale, never worn. Just those 6 words conjure a sad story/image in the reader's mind. Cheers, j

Indeed the illustration chosen is perfect. It's sad to think the Speaker was rebuffed on her wedding day. Maybe, if she's lucky, she can sell the dress and veil as "virtually new" on EBay.

I remember the story when someone bet Hemmingway that he could not write a story in 6 words. He came up with... baby shoes for sale never worn. Just those few words can stir up a whole sad scenario in the reader's mind. Thanks for the review, cheers, j

It is hard to express much in seven words but you have managed to tell a total tale of love's dreams dashed upon the rocks of life. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

Thanks for the encouraging review. Hemmingway once won a bet by writing a 6 word story. baby shoes for sale never worn. With just those few words the reader conjures up the sad scenario and isn't that what writing is about? Have a wonderful and peace filled New Year, cheers, j
