Great message. There is such a reduced amount of pollinators these days. One summer I remember hand pollinating my zucchini plants using a brush going from male to femal flowers.

Thanks for the review. I did the same here in Tanzania wit my vanilla plant. When I get backto Vermont tis summer I am going to devote some land to wildflowers, hummingbird feeders, suet, bird baths... all the goodies that they love. Cheers, j

An Interesting Weave you have going here Judester.
I Love the Lily and you have blended it well with background color to enhance it's beauty.
This Sonnet weaves a Tale of Beauty that Once Was and no longer prevails.
The Beauty of Fireflies...Dragonflies...Songbirds...and...Polka Dot Lady Bugs and the Sweet Fragance of Soft Raindrops dancing on Lily Blossoms.
Gone are the days of beauty Silenced by the Mutations of caustic poisons.

The other side of the Weave I guess would be the Beautiful Young Lady that has been Muted to the Caustic Poisons of Narcotics and Alcohol.

I too prefer the Bees.
An Excellent Writing...Judester...O.T...Phil.

Thanks for the encouraging review Phil. I seem to have a problem with meter, and trying out a sonnet was a great lesson for me. I remember when I was young and the garden was filled with butterflies, fireflies ,dragonflies, ladybugs etc. Not so much any more and I believe it is the random spraying of chemicals..At out farm we had rows of flowers that would attract the bugs that ate the bugs thatate the veg. It worked pretty good and looked wonderful. The first thing I am doing when I get back to Vermont this summer is make a big wildflower garden and hummingbird feeders for my little insect friends. I miss them, Cheers, j

You have followed the rhyming requirements, a total of 14 lines, the last two being the essence of the poem, of a sonnet but there is no evidence of iambic pentameter . I,myself, battle to fulfill this requirement when trying to write an ode. However, your description of what poison spraying is destroying, is vivid. The killing of bees is having far reaching effect on our existence.

A very well-written sonnet. A beautiful garden is always great to look at and enjoy. But we still need the bees and butterflies to bring life to a beautiful summer garden.

It seems better, not that I could find any faults the first time.
