Thank you for reprising your reactions to 9/11. I did not realize your Prime Minister could have been in the World Trade Center at the time of the attack. I admired your use of rhymes and the many pictures to heighten the intensity of your description. Best wishes in the contest. Sighs- Joan

Hi Joan not in the World Trade Centre, but he was speaking in a hotel up the road from the Pentagon, so still close to the drama there. It was our international swimmer Ian Thorpe was about to go into the WTC but just as well he changed his mind. Thanks for coming by. I finally got All Time Best for this! Yay!

Congratulations on having your poem well received. Cheers- Joan

Hi Geoff, this is a great and very poignant poem about what happened on that terrible day. As you say, it's actually got worse over the years since then. And now the pandemic. Where is all going to end?
I hope you are both well? All best. Ulla:)))

Yes, Ulla, there are those who want to deny it ever happened same as the Holocaust. Thanks for coming by.

Superb, dear Geoff and aptly illustrated. You called the world view in this and I appreciated that. It's hard to comprehend the magnitude year after year but you captured it. Enjoy these stars.
Sending you my best today as always,

J can believe I missed this the first time around. That is my loss. So sorry. I enjoyed reading. 9/11 is a time we must never forget as our cancel culture is attempting to rewrite history. Thank you for re-posting.

Yes Sis by the same ones that want to deny the Holocaust ever happened. Thanks very much. Sally Law reminded me of the anniversary so had to get it out again.

Thanks for reposting your poem, Geoff. It's still relevant today. The title could refer to the current pandemic, couldn't it?
The last two stanzas are a fervent plea that all your readers will sincerely pray.
Stay safe
Blessings Julia

Geoff,
What a special tribute to this sad day. The effect just goes on and on, doesn't it? It was a day the whole world stopped, I think. It was lovely the way so many countries joined with us in our misery and pain. Thank you!

AMEN! Thanks for coming by. Sally Law reminded me it was the Anniversary so thought good to get this out again seeing we here in Australia also came close to losing a couple of our important people. I guess Aussies were also lost in the bombing as well as US folks.

This is a wonderful tribute to those who died on that tragic day. Horror like this has continued by the hands of terrorists. Today it is the the form of riots, protests, burning, looting, etc. Great post!

It would be an eerie feeling to think of going to the World Trade Center on that fateful day and then change your mind. That person must have thought God was really on his side that day. I didn't know about Australia's PM being in the city at that time. It is still a sad time, and I'm there are events to commemorate 9/11. We should never forget. We must pray that such a tragedy will not occur again. Excellent rhyme. judi

You're welcome. I'm sure what the PM was doing there got lost amidst the terror attack happening. judi
