I love this poem, it has a great sense of humor.
I personally don't like hats... I'm a little lady and feel like a walking hat if I would wear one. LOL. Great entry for the contest and I wish you luck. Fia

Some times putting on false pretenses will come back to haunt the person as this poem depicts.
Theme seems to be it is more important to be yourself than try to be somebody, or something, you are not.
Should be a good contest entry.

I had to laugh at your descriptions of the shapes and the styles.
This brought back a lot of memories of how hats made the person and you had one for every occasion...now it is ball caps and straw hats.

I drive to town and hit the diner every day. Most days I see a few ball caps, one out of every half-dozen on a female. The hat is dead. RIP.

I remember growing up in day when my mother wouldn't consider leaving the house without a hat. Now, I wouldn't consider leaving the house wearing a hat. Your poem flowed smoothly and was fun to read.
