This vignette about a childhood experience in the mountains
is quite unique. I'm left wondering so many things after reading
this? What were you leaving? Why with so many others? Who
was this strange, ghostly, gypsy woman? You leave me, as reader,
with a sense of remembered pain, as if the ghostly presence can't
be shaken. But, still ask why. What I do know is that this is hauntingly written in exquisite, descriptive prose. Your use of imagery is just
lovely, especially the smoke-fire- sky reference. Loved it.
