A really nice recalling of WWII pilots and the artwork on their planes which "inspired" and possibly kept them sane. One incident vividly described.
cramped [quarters] no apostrophe needed to show plural.
I'm a traditionalist who favors punctuation in poetry.

Great job Catherin Elizabet Belle bein a veteran of the United States Marine Corps myself I do enjoy anything about the military and combat, I consider myself somewhat of a self appointed military and war historian, in fact one of my ancestors actually signed the Declaration of Independence he was the youngest signer at 26 years old, his name was Edward Rutledge.
And his brother John signed the constitution of the United States. anyway I enjoyed your poem very much, especially the world war II subject matter I will be reading more of your material and looking forward to more of your material to be posted here, great job well done!

Thank you RRutledge1 for your excellent rating. [ My dad was a Seabee in WWII, my husband AF in Vietnam, one son navy during Desert Storm, and one son AF during Desert Storm.] Stop by again. Thank you.

A stunning picture with just a fabulous poem to go along with it. This is so very good and takes us all back. Is that a B-52? It takes me back. Great stuff...
