If only we would do a lot more of this 'sitting in stillness' -allow our minds to settle and becalm and thereby enable us to exit the hustle and bustle and achieve 'mindfulness wisdom'- well done

This haiku about Zen, Sitting in Stillness, uses its seventeen syllables to illuminate the power of quiet contemplation over frantic worry. Nice.

Peaceful, inviting, hopeful. The image captures the stillness of zen and suggests an uncomplicated space where one can be free of distractions.

Hello :)
Great haiku about Zen meditation. You have the right amount of syllables in a short/long/short format, two connected lines, and a satori. Good job!

I believe peaceful existence is like praying to your Lord and Savior, savoring in the peaceful quiet of nature and His creations. The picture and the poem itself complement each other well. Thanks for sharing, God bless.

Comment from rama devi
Lovely serenity in this excellent entry for the Zen contest. The theme is perfect, as is the delivery. Superb word economy. Superb satori line (love the wording and meaning) and superb alliteration and consonance of S and consonance of C-Q sounds. Pitch perfect style for contest, meeting all guidelines. very Zen. Sounds good read aloud.
Good luck!
Warmly, rd

Danish philosopher, Pascal, said, "All of the evils, all of the pressures of life, fall upon us because we will not sit alone quietly in a room." He is saying that until we learn to be quiet by ourselves, will we ever be any good to someone else. My discipline is Tai chi and before sun up each day, I find my center.
A beautiful haiku. I will be voting. -Bill

This is an excellent short poem on zen. It creates a mental picture of sitting quite and a good satori at the end..wisdom is nothing but mindfulness. I guess you need to delete author's note. As per rules author shall not include any notes. All the best

Although I am not a participant in Yoga, Zen, etc., I agree that silent meditation and reflection are wonderful tools to soften the blows of everyday life.
In so few words, you have captured the essence of the power of meditation. Nicely done!
Best to you ...
