Oh my word, this is hilarious, Shari. How old age changes thick hair and thin flab to thin hair and thick flab.
That's the one thing I like about Pierce Brosnan though, I don't think he gives too much of a darn. But the one thing we can see is his hairy chest remained pretty much the same.
I always get a kick out of your senryu chock full of irony and wit and this one is no different.

Thanks for the compliment, Gloria. The hair on his chest is sure lighter, same with women. I never expected that!

Hahahaha! G'day Shari, I always love these funny little pieces of yours, they are so very clever mate. That is some contrast in looks it almost makes me want to look in the mirror but I won't, haven't done for 20 years or more. Cheers and well done, Fez

Yep, the mirror has become the enemy we can't fight. Sigh...

How lovely to get a sixer on Friday. Yes, it could be written about most of us on the site.
Hugs,
Shari

This poem captures what happens to all of us. The photo is perfect and fits your words. First case of age fright is fitting as the last line, many actors probably feel this way as they age.

Thanks, Elaine. I bet growing old is more difficult on their ego than ordinary mortals. LOL

Ahh, very clever Shari. With only three lines you have painted a picture as telling as the artwork you chose! As someone once said, aging is not for sooks.
Well done with this senryu.
warm regards, wendy.

LOL - I'll say it'd be painful - just look at gorgeous (hairy) Pierce...(hahahaha). Who's the guy with the flab? (Just kiddin' ya - you know I think you are the Queen of these. It's you I follow to learn senryu. :0)

Gee whiz, thanks Dawn. I wonder if aging is harder for the stars since their younger selves are on reruns or Netflix.

Oooh! I never thought of that - I'll bet it is!
Comment from Terrie DeGolier
Picture perfect. It's about time men see that their bodies are no longer perfect. Yet they expect women, who have given birth, our bodies put on weight to become a mother, the skin becomes road maps and men want a picture of an existing model but they never look in the mirror. Well done good comparison of youth and aging. Terrie

Sad to say that with fame and money, a young woman is quite happy to be arm candy.

Hi Shari
I'll forgive his 'flab' if he forgives mine. lol This is fabulous humour, great wit and irony. If only ... says it all. Pierce will always be a hunk to me. ;] wink wink. I love your use of contrast and word play with 'thin' and 'thick' ... 'painful age fight' ... so true. Your aha has me zooming in so many directions. I think you've excelled yourself here Shari ... outstanding. You have no excess word usage, create a load of emotions, especially for those of us feeling the 'pinch'. Hahahah ... what enjoyment and entertainment you've given me this morning. Of course Sean Connery seems to have discovered how to age gracefully. Congratulations on REcWRITER ... well deserved. Hugs - Lovi xoxo

You're a dear, Lovinia. Thank you so much for the six and the congratulations. Both Sean and Richard Gere are aging beautifully. But I bet they have a few botox injections every six months. Loved the details in your review.

thin hair and thick flab << good parallels in wording
cast actor in old man role
painful age fight
I don't understand why you used the word FIGHT. For one thing, it makes the line just 4 syllables, but mainly it doesn't seem to fit. I would suggest you change it to be more specific to the situation. Maybe... painful age result --or-- a sign of aging, etc.

It's meant to be a play of words on stage fright, but no one's getting it, so I changed the line. A little late now as most have read it. Just got to your note now.
-
Oh, you misspelled FRIGHT, leaving out the R the first time, so it said FIGHT. That was confusing. Just a typo.
I really like the new version! Virtual six for it! ******

Wow! Is this Pierce Brosnan THEN an NOW? It looks like it--it is!
thin hair and thick flab
cast actor in old man role
painful age fight
Hats off to him for having the courage to take on an 'old man' role and be seen by the world as such.

As actors age, they don't have much choice.
