This two-ten-two, Visa at Work, certainly fulfills the requirements of this contest and reminds us that cash is its own budget.

This meets the contest requirements nicely with a spot on line and syllable count. I like your modern approach to the prompt and thought this a delightful read. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you for sharing it.

Your final line "Barred card", nice assonance and a great pun.
The single word 'plastic' in line one is very effective. It is one of those much used terms that have gone from being a description of material to meaning the credit card itself. I think the on-line shopping temptations have to be great for those with little discipline. Lots off us. Barred, they should be. Best of luck with this.

Definitely a lot of that around today! Well described. Plastic, like hacking seems to be a major concern for consumers! The picture adds enhancement to the 2/10/2!

Hi there.

Very good.
I have definitely been there. It is almost like an addiction. Now I have gone back to only spending cash! It's safer.

Nicely penned and good luck with it

It does addictive especially if the seller offers free shipping on returns. Sounds as if you had big credit bills in the mail. :-)

How true, and usually for things not needed by people who can not pay for these endless purchases. This really can be like an addiction. Poem depicts this story nicely and is well written.

aaah, I see you've been stalking me! Credit cards seem to be a love 'em- hate 'em affair for me ... love the miles, hate having to pay the bill - a fun entry! :)S

Reality of today it seems
All the purchases with plastic
Then the reality of the bill
Comes often without telling the card is full

So it is good to end the curse
With the card barred for the course
If only it could come before
The end of the account that is on overload
