Bahaha when I read the title I went I bet it's about changing your name. After I got married people started calling my by my new name but what they didn't know what that for like two weeks I was in limbo without a clue what to write for a name because technically I wasn't my new name til I went to social security but their hours are weird so it took awhile. I now have my new name and can change everything but man it was pain. Great job with this friend

That would make an interesting story. It's so long ago that I had forgotten that step.

Freedom of choice these days. Young people marry whom they will and whenever. Although some may think a large "storybook" wedding is a thing of the past, they still provide memories. Virgin or not, the bride will have her big moment. What a lovely wedding picture you found. Excellent format for a 5-7-5. judi

For girls, the high school prom is almost as big a memory as a wedding. Thanks for the review.

You're very welcome. I'm glad that the traditional wedding still has its appeal. judi

Very funny, Shari.
Excellent word choices, well chosen.
The photo attached shows the high point - I always wonder how many elaborate weddings last long enough for the couple to pay for them!
Virginity/Schmirginity ...

Having said that, my teenage daughter has a boyfriend
and now I live in fear!

All that money and then a divorce a year later. That is a horror story. Hope your daughter will take it sloooooooooooow.

Well, Shari, I wonder just how many women are virgins when they get married. Very few, I would suspect. Great play with words, as usual. Lays claim is a hoot. Hugs, Lou

I really have no problem with the new concept of bedding if you're serious. Compatibility is important in all areas. :-)

The first line says it all. Is the wedding a claim of victory? Seems it is. The final prize of ownership? Lust? Love? Whatever, it's always a happy moment, of course with nerves, and maybe with second thoughts for some. Well done. Les

I wonder how much the dynamics change when it's legal. I'll bet parents start harping for grandchildren. :-)

I always find it difficult to review the 5-7-5. Your lines certainly evoke strong imagery. I doubt I would want a wedding as impressive as that pictured if I had dessert first! Which the majority of us do. It just seems so...hypocritical.
Wendy.

I agree. Wait until you read about my daughter's wedding! It was off the wall.

Oh I love it! Short and Powerful! Is the bride's high moment the wedding night ;)?

Your word choices are fantastic as always.

The high point should be her wedding night unless she's been living with her mate for a while. Then it's same old, same old. :-)

I like your line dessert served first, it reflects the modern world. Your 5-7-5 form captures the wedding and to bride's high moment is a fitting last line. So many people get married today after living together for a long time.

You have to wonder if the money wouldn't be better spent going to Europe for a belated honeymoon.

Dessert served first seems to be the rule of thumb in today's society; I mean you at least got to taste a little to make sure you like it, right? So are you saying the impressive wedding cake was the "climax" of the moment? 8-)

That's exactly what I'm implying. Although I remember both events clearly. LOL

I thought this was an impressive use of the 5-7-5 format. My one tiny suggestion: what if you said "TO bride's PROUD moment?" I think the meaning might be just a bit more clear. Just a suggestion, humbly offered, as always.

I like and used it, but made another change along with it with a pun of sorts. :-)
