Laws must be of the people, by the people, and for the people, as we attain to in the US.
Things need changing and a lot of help but, when I was 16, I was part of just a few kids from each state who were chosen for a program called Washington Workshops. We went ru Congress every day, stayed at a college in Virginia for the week and had some down time for sightseeing too. I made friends from all over the country and I saw close up in 1983, the US Congress work cordially together .
Best wishes!

What a experience. I have a offer for the UN, refused because of a selected agenda, we were allowed to address with these nations. Thanking you for that imput and generous rate.

The more I read this the more I read INTO it. There are "Bills" as in the paper money the government has convinced us that the accrual of gives us "wealth" -- and there are "Bills" we must pay... thus we have to follow the path each government lays out to climb the tenuous ladder of success.
And there are "Bills" governments will enact to ensure we do not think outside the box and threaten the wealthy few. We're all slaves to the money, aren't we?
Hmmm. This is my reading of your work! Am I close?

I feel the urgency and the passion in this poem of bills and paying or receiving taxed money for services rendered.
However, I had to read this a few times and still feel I haven't done you or this poem justice in this review.
I wish it took on a bit more clarity. Best, JohnC

I personally prefer not to be shot, shooting this flare: I believe is enough. It could have been harsher. Thanking you for desiring that cold and that generous rate dispute.

Very informative. I had no idea any of this existed or that you could indeed make a poem out of commentary, even political and such. It's amazing how connecting on these sites aids in world growth through poetry. Have a good day.

"A Bill" is an awkward but challenging poem. Its topic, the
Canadian dollar bill, really standing for money, can be seen in so many ways and is present in so much of human effort, success, and failure. This theme is so often bruited about that a poem needs real wit and invention to do something new with the topic.
This author specializes in run-on sentences and definitions by gerunds and participles. This poem, though it has been noted by other reviewers favorably, was work for me to read. It seemed to be one more litany of human greed and that greed's interaction with power and control.

This is why I posted this work to make those adjustments, other reviewers agree with you not Written properly. Yet merited this assumed on creativity or originality. I have some work to do. And with your statement another step. Thanking for the truth and this generous rate dispute faults.

The common standards for writing English allow much room for invention, and it is always possible for a writer to stretch the language by his or her own insights into using the written or spoken word. Best of luck to you. Frank

I've read this several times and still don't fully understand your poem's meaning, but I appreciate this: fiat currency is a bust because its paper, not backed by gold or silver. It's sad to think it's printed like today's newspaper.
Sending you my best today as always.

I like your world, with this seen viewpoint, definitely unique in its observation. Never change the world needs such indifference. Thanking you for this slap of reality and your generous rate.

strangely compelling look at money and all that it means, how money has made every one slaves to the economic system as we work for the bills that ever mount.

I read it several times, but still don't understand what you are saying - the corruption engendered by money, the laws and political systems which are beset by corruption, money, people's greed? Not even sure about the notes. Sorry. It is definitely original in its setting out, and perhaps you intended to force the reader to do some thinking.

The ideal was to have my reader to think about our governing system, finding the strength of that operation, notes or money, giving its downside effects upon the populist. The thought is becoming clearer, thanks to responses such as yours, directing me. Glad, dispute shortcomings, you found it in enough interest to merit a generous rate. I thank you.
