G'day Shari, you hit the nail on the head here mate. I never or very rarely watch TV, it drives me insane and I'd rather watch nature. Here in the Philippines they have some outrages ads and I never remember what on earth they are trying to sell by the time they finish. To answer the question in your notes "Deer with no eyes!" (No idea). Cheers Fez

Ah, I see this truism is anywhere. Have yet to find out about the duck wit the gas mask. Air freshener, maybe?

No clue. Loved this. This is what I'm thinking when I'm watching many of the commercials I see. Thank you for articulating my thoughts so well, in poetic form.

You got me, Shari. Anyway, I think you have a good point about commercials being more creative than the programs they sponsor. Hugs, Lou

Actually, I read that this is done deliberately!

Love it! There are several commercials that find amusing, or cute, or whatever, but the don't do what they were meant to do. I cannot remember the product they were seeking, just how much the commercial caught my attention.

Same here, Debi. Thanks so much for the six on a Saturday night no less.

Your are welcome. I do try to ration the sixes out to one a day. Sometimes I actually make it to Saturday.
reply by the author on 03-May-2015
I try to do the same, but sometimes so many good ones appear the first and second day.

Can't wait for the breaks (5-7-5) A Challenge to TV Screenwriters.' I wouldn't have a clue because I don't watch American sitcoms. Loved the haiku though. Thought THAT was very creative. Well done.

Thanks, Chase. I bet they have creative commercials wherever you are too.

I love that gecko. I think Geico is trying a new approach. Thanks for verifying my theory.

I like to criticize commercials. Like the pad commerical that says you won't leak through and you watch the woman lay down in bed in white pants...but she gets up in I think it was blue or black pants. She got up and changed her pants at some point...Did she leak through? One will never know but it makes you wonder

OMG. That sounds weird. I wonder what guys think about those intimate ads.
reply by ExperiencingLiphe on 02-May-2015
Probably the same thing we think when those viagra commercials come on. LOL

Good point. If I were a guy, I'd be embarrassed to even do the ad, but it probably pays good money.

LOL I have no clue what a crow and a pipe would be. Your poem is wonderful! It's like the Super Bowl commercials...everyone goes to the bathroom during the game so they can watch the commercials. Great poem that made me smile.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

I've heard that about the commercials, and boy, does the product pay heavily for one minute of prime time. Um, I don't think it's a crow but a duck. :-)

Do they still have sitcoms on TV? Seriously, I couldn't name one. I think reality TV has taken over, which is a pity because it is so uninteresting but there are some fabulous documentaries on these days.

As far as this commercial goes, erm, buzzard plug ins? Take the buzz out of vacuum cleaning? Amp up your trumpet or blow bigger bubbles with bazooka bubble gum? LOL, or blow your own horn? I really haven't a clue, but it was fun thinking about it. I won't mention my naughty ideas.

Truly, ads are the most entertaining TV these days.

Great job!

Gloria

Kudos for trying. You should see the one I almost posted- four men with butts in the air. Again, no clue as to product. Hemorrhoids cream maybe? Lots of sitcoms still on to appeal to the a crude audience IMO. Nothing is sacred any more.

Now that is one very clever 5-7-5, I congratulate you on its originality and interest.
Whatever the photo is about, I have no idea. Not much of a commercial if no one knows.
Wendy.

well, the duck is wearing a gas mask so maybe it's about air freshener?
