Yes, a bath could be a dangerous place, but it seems a shower could be too. Take care. On TV here they advertise fancy walk-in baths with a door you can close. Sounds luxurious but probably very expensive. Too bad when you can't do the things you used to enjoy. You poem works great because you explain it all and really get your feeling about the situation across. judi

Hi Geoff ...
What a shame to lose those little things that have always been so near and dear to you! My wife is just the opposite ... she loves to shower but s relegated to baths ... because of vertigo! When she raises her hands above her head or attempts to turn (to wash her back in the shower), she loses here balance and has fallen several times. Fortunately no serious injuries, just bruising and soreness.
You summed up your disappointment and relegation quite nicely. Well done, mate.
God Bless ...

Hi Alan, was having really bad vertigo times even to point of throwing up but that has passed now. Still getting the occasional dizzies but I seem to know how to manage it. Ask your wife does she get the dizzies sitting down some times. Has she had an ultra scan of her neck? My sitting down Dizzies are to do with calcification build up in the neck blocking the carotid artery and affecting blood flow. Fortunately I am on aspirin to thin the blood so that helps.

This is yet another interesting post from the author. I am stuck with showers at the moment too, but that is because I don't have a bath at the moment.

Hi Sankey,
Baths, swimming in the sea, and soaking in the ub afterward - all just memories for many of us now I think. I'm perhaps more fortunate with the shower - large adjustable rose, and good pressure ...

large rose and good pressure! Yum! Still remember the South Australia water where you gfelt like you had to wash in something else afterwards! Something to do with Murray River left overs I think.

A shower is nice every now and again, but I prefer a bath. It is very sad when you can't do something anymore that you like. This is well written.
Take care.
Christelle.

I can't remember the last time I took a bath Bro, I'm quite content with the shower, the wrestling one can have when deembarkation comes from the bath is too much a decision for me to make. But I do know the regret of not physically being able to do something anymore, like playing AFL footy or cricket for Australia, not that I did, but one can dream, nicely written Bro, maybe one day, when Jesus gives you a new body perhaps, blessing and happy Easter to you and your dear wife,Blessings,
Roy,

I understand. However, we shower here for we have good pressure and I really prefer.
Hope things work so you can get the walk in tub. They are nice or they look good on TV.

Nice thought Bro. Both have diverticulosis and need our own potties now so replaced bath with pedestal stand.

Can't you find someone to change that shower head so you could have an enjoyable bath.
Sorry about your misfortune but thank God you still have your writing to look forward to.

AWWWWW! G'day Geoff, come on over here mate and let uncle Fezzy give you a sponge bath Hahahaha! I bet ya miss it mate I would. Here I have a wash with only cold water and a bucket poured over my head to wash the soap off. People might think it's OK because I live in the tropics HA! It is freezing and all the little kids stand outside the bathroom door and laugh at the funny white man screaming! Anyway, great stuff cobber. Cheers Fez
