This is so tragic its funny! Lump sum = Cancerous lump.
Both require a deep removal.

I agree with this win. It says a lot with a little bit. I'm drooling over the photo. Please tell me its' you holding that beautiful bulk of green bucks!

Thanks loads for the exceptional review. Love your comparison to the two--deep removal. Good one. Notice that first bill is $100 so I assume the rest of the bills are too. :-)

G'day Shari. Congratulations on the win mate. This is a great little piece on what must be a horror of getting a huge bill at the end of treatment. I love the way you can write in so many forms, well done. Cheers Fez

You are so clever with words in this haiku...cancer is such a scare and a horror to us all that we are willing to pay whatever it takes...leave it to you to be able to sum it up in so few words...

Thanks, Maggie. Wasn't too sure what kind of reception this would get. But even those who had cancer laughed at the pun.

what a witty kicker your last line is. Did tis just pop into our head or did you have o think about it? It is one of those poems that will stay in the mind of the readers. Perfect artwork choice.

Thanks so much for the exceptional rating. I toyed around with several ideas when I finally hit on the first line, then the satori did pop into my head. Just needed a middle to lead into it.

This is genius. I wish I would've have known they were going to DQ me, I would've saved my vote for you. This was so funny, but then that undertone of deadly seriousness kicks in. Priceless moment right there!!! Might be to bright for these folks, but it's the best one! mikey

Yea! A sixer and a great review. I tied for first place, I'm happy to say. What does DQ mean?

This poem was not only an emotional summing up in a few words what it is like to experience breast cancer, but it was a great play on words. Thank you from a cancer survivor survivor for sharing these few words that I can now laugh about...

Oh God, how sadly true this is! I feel like when some doctors make a cancer diagnosis, a dollar sign bell goes of in their heads. After all, how many doctors would treat a patient pro bono? Especially one with a life threatening and expensive illness? Good poem with a timely message and correct syllable count and form.

That's the only good thing being on Medicare had. It sent out an itemized bill every month listing every procedure, what percent they paid and a recap of the previous month too. I did learn that if you go to the hospital, and they give you an aspirin, they charge you for the whole bottle so I always made sure they gave me what remained in the bottle when I left...great job with this one and oh, so true.

Darn it. Yours is better. Love this. Great flow which is rare here. And of course the play on words. This is well written and humorous. Man!

Oh, Shari, you didn't! Yes you did, LOL. I don't usually take the time to read comments by others, but I have to see if you got any flack. From one twisted mind to another, hugs from Lou Lou.
